Jill Flood

Jill Flood, age 47, starting weight 215

Jill's essay quote:
"I was once an athlete living each day craving the opportunity to participate in some form of sport. But the last two years have kept me sedentary and my weight has increased..."

Week one testimonial

"WOW, my muscles are sore! My first week has been great! The workouts were all very different and I loved that. After two years of not much activity, I am definitely out of shape. The workouts are challenging and I know that I am pushed much harder than I would have pushed myself. In the end I know it will make me so much more successful in this program. Sticking to a low fat diet is always a challenge, I say that like I have done it more than once. You can do it for a while and then something in your life happens and you get off track. I have always struggled with the commitment to eating healthy long term. I think the options today make it easier for all of us especially eating out. Subway's turkey on wheat with fat free honey mustard is pretty darn good with lots of nice veggies!"

Week two testimonial

I am not as sore as last week but still feel like I have worked hard at the training sessions. I can feel my body changing mostly getting stronger and that is great!
My biggest challenge this week isn't the food at all it is getting more workouts in. With work and taking care of my family it has been a difficult week to add extra workouts, I know that next week I have to plan better. It is so easy to just keep going and not stop to fit it in. I look forward to the time with the trainers because I know that I will be working out hard and it is worth it. Losing weight in your 40's is difficult, you can't just eat well, it has to include exercise.

Week four

Boy the Challenge was tough! I was sore for days. I didn't think I had it in me to work out on Sunday but once I was there it felt good. I have never worked with a trainer before and I have to say I work way harder than if I was left on my own.
I am kind of becoming bored with my food choices, I need to take some time to investigate new low fat choices. I am open to any suggestions, kind of getting tired of turkey.

Week five

Nice to win a challenge! I really hate losing so I hope we can win this Friday. I really enjoy working out with the group. I am kind of worried that when it is all over will I be able to get the same workout on my own. I used to need a day to get over the soreness after a workout but I am starting to feel like I can do some cardio the next day. I need to start writing down all the exercises so I have some variety to work with on my own. I like using all the different tools to get results like the ball and the resistance bands. I really don't want to miss a workout but might have to this weekend because Sunday is my daughter's 16th birthday!
